Community Service Corps

The Community Service Corps, or CSC, consists of students who volunteer their time and energy to help others. Students commit to participating in a minimum of three CSC sponsored events throughout the year. CSC provides LF students the opportunity to put their "faith into action" in their own "little way" in the spirit of Saint Therese, our patron saint.

 Cookies for a Cause

  • On Friday, February 27, the CSC and SGA teamed up to sell baked goods for the Cookies for a Cause donation stand. Everything was sold by the end of the day and the profits went to Pennies for Patients, a cause which benefits cancer patients, done in the memory of our deceased sister, Lisa Self.
  • March Madness is here! Each week in March is filled with a new way to raise money for various causes. The week of March 2-6 was Gracie's Gift, a program that gives the blankets donated to new mothers at Tmeple Hospital. This week, March 9-13, The CSC will be collecting Bucks for Bigwa, a school in Africa. Sister Fran, an LF alum, has organized a program to help the less fortunate in Bigwa. Recently a fire destroyed a dormitory and the money collected at LF will go to fund reconstruction.

 Volunteering

  • On Saturday, February 21, several CSC memebers volunteered at Mercy Vocational's Winterfest 2009. Each girl was paired with a special needs person and spent time in the day doing various activities. It was alot of fun and a great experience!  Boththe volunteers and guests had a lot of fun playing games, making crafts, eating lunch, and dancing at the DJ party!
