                 We Prepare for

       Easter

Hello, everyone. This month Bishop Shanahan is focusing on  Lent, in preparation for Easter, the most important holy day of the Catholic Church. We began the season of Lent by celebrating Ash Wednesday as a  community. As Catholics, it is important for us to sacrifice during this special time of preparation. These sacrifices can involve giving material goods up, such as television and cell phones, or simply offering our hardships up to God. Our spiritual life is an important aspect of Lent, and the sacrifices we make strengthen our relationship with God and each other. Aduring Lent, we look forward to Easter, when we remember how Jesus rose from the dead and saved us all. At Bishop Shanahan, Lent is a good time to grow in faith and improve our relationship with God.

Featured Club:

Community Service Corps!

At Bishop Shanahan there are many different clubs and other activities. One club we offer is called The Community Service Corps (CSC). In CSC the students at Shanahan do various charity acts for our community. Recently we have had drives called "Jammin' for Jammies" and "Teens for Jeans" where we collected pajamas and jeans for needy children and teenagers. Currently the club is running a drive called "Ready, Set, Read!". This is a drive where the students are collecting books for a preschool in need in our community. CSC helps the students realized how blessed they are and also how they need to give back to others.
